A state in northern India. It is 5th in area but 1st in population among all of the states. The city of Agra is a major tourism attraction containing the Taj Mahal, Agra Fort and Fatehpur Sikri. Most of the state is agricultural oriented. Most of India's livestock population is located here. This area has been vital to control for the last 4000 years in controlling ancient and modern India. Eight of the fourteen Indian Prime Ministers come from Uttar Pradesh. These are Jawaharlal Nehru, Lal Bahadur Shastri, Indira Gandhi, Rajiv Gandhi, Choudhary Charan Singh, Vishwanath Pratap Singh, Chandra Shekhar and Atal Behari Vajpayee.
