Nage no Kata is the kata of throws. It was developed in 1884 in the Kodokan and consists of five sets of three throws, performed right and left handed.
Kata Guruma is the last hand technique and the end of the first set. Okuri Ashi Barai and Sasae Tsuri Komi Ashi start the third set, the foot techniques. The rei is the bow which starts of finishes the kata. Sumi Gaeshi is the last backwards sacrifice technique and the end of the fourth set. Tomoe Nage and Ura Nage start the fourth set, the backwards sacrifice techniques. Tsuri Komi Goshi is the last hip technique and the end of the second set. Uchi Mata is the last foot technique and the end of the third set. Uki Goshi and Harai Goshi start the second set, the hip techniques. Uki Otoshi and Seoi Nage are the first two throws in the kata, introducing the hand techniques. Uki Waza is the last technique in Nage No Kata. Yoko Gake and Yoko Guruma start the fifth set, the side sacrifice techniques.
