Facebook Application?
Would there be a way to turn the information and brainoffs/factopedias from this site into an application for Facebook? If you're looking for a way to grow the site, I think that would be an excellent way to start. Facebook is seriously lacking in GOOD trivia and/or fact applications. My inability to find a trivia application of any quality on Facebook is what actually led me to search Google and find this site. Fortunately I did, because I'm pretty much addicted now. I just wish there was an application integrated into Facebook so I can challenge friends and boast about my scores there.
Just a suggestion from a newbie.

Good suggestion too.
I don't know much about Facebook development yet but I'll take a look into it tomorrow. I imagine it's something that Count Factacular would be happy to see happen but I also know that he's pretty busy with other stuff at the moment so if the development would need a lot of his input it might be tough to get off the ground.
Definitely something to consider though.

I don't know about Facebook development either, but I did find this information that should help.

Since I'm definitely not a developer it might as well be in Greek, but I thought I'd post it for someone with a better understanding.

Thanks for that, kimberly.
There's quite a lot involved with Facebook development, by the looks of it - which perhaps isn't too surprising. The main thing, obviously, is to get the Factacular games into Facebook. According to the developer documentation the main application content can "either be FBML or an external html site presented within an iframe". That's geek language for "You can put an entire web page in as it is".
So, that's something of a bonus - it means less work.
However, to take part in user-to-user challenges at the moment, requires that a user signs up. We would need some mechanism which effectively created a new Factacular account when a Facebook user installed the application. This could be a problem because, currently, user names need to be unique across the site. Facebook users, however, can have the same name as other Facebook users.
So we really need to get Count Factacular on board with the idea because changes like that need the boss.

By the way, it's probably worth me pointing out that I'm a developer but I'm not affiliated with the Factacular site. I'm not responding in any official capacity - purely as a member of this site with a bit of inside knowledge.
