Facta Marathon
It just came to me. How about we to have a monthly Marathon. Only one brainoff consisting of 42 questions (if possible, if not 50), cause the actual Marathon is 42,195m. It may be on Random Factor.
It can be held along with one of the existing tournaments (Decathlon or Category Based). If it goes with Category Based, there can be Geography Marathon, Arts Marathoon etc.
Just a thought.

It will be very interesting and really exhausting, just like a real marathon. You know that you get tired from the 20 question brainoff, that think off how it would be if there are 42 questions.

To point out, that it will be a real Marathon if you play all 42 questions in one breath. And if you can't finish in any way (the Exit Button should be unavailable) you did not finish the Marathon, so DNF.

As an additional idea, you could maybe have 42 questions to make a 'London Marathon' with all questions London related, or 'New York Marathon'... etc
Good original idea though Kristian.

Would probably need a makeover of the brainoff challenge thingy, not sure that is going to be possible. 2 daily brainoffs of 20, perhaps taking shaunt's idea of related questions and a random 20 ?? If anybody wants to test it I'll be available from monday (son's wedding) and will challenge or answer challenges.

I once received a challenge by Stu with 50 questions. I thinkit is possible to make 42 question brainoff.
And it's a great idea to have a city where the Marathon is hosted like New York, London, Sydney etc. But I think it will be better to have a random brainoff.

Would you have one winner or just people that finished?

I guess one winner and top3 with medals.
And of course all who finish the Marathon will receive a medal for participation (which is regular for all the Marathons).

Yes it is possible to do. Doing it occasionally as part of a tournament would be relatively easy but making it on just London or New York would require a lot more effort. A single subject one would work fine I think. I will give it a try.

In my opinion, the best way is to be on Random Factor, or if it is run with the Category Based Subject, to be based on the Subject that the tournament is about.

I will try it out in the Geography tournament this month. But adding it to the challenge options is more complicated and not likely in the near future. It will however be kept in mind when changes to the challenge process are made.
