Henry Fonda - On Golden Pond and 12 Angry Men.
He also blew me away in "Gideon's Trumpet" - a made-for-TV film about the US Supreme Court's re-manifestation of the court appointed defender policy.
Fonda played Gideon - a vagrant who petitioned the Supreme Court about the lack of a credible defence for a crime he didn't commit. He literally wrote them with pencil and lined paper from prison. And got crap from the prison because he kept requesting registered mail.
Cranky old bastard, but he was absolutely correct in his interpretation of the US Constitution and "due process".
Also.....Grapes of Wrath.
Also......the villain in Sergio Leone's "Once Upon a Time in the West". Cold, cruel, soulless........just as comfortable killing a 7 year old boy as he would an adult......a forerunner of the villains of today.
