Day 25 – The most hilarious movie you’ve ever seen

Blazing Saddles uncut and unedited. "That's Hedley!" So many good laughs in the film and still to the day, I laugh loudly when watching it

Honorable mentions to It's a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World, Duck Soup and The Hangover.

Honourable mentions first.....

Buster Keaton's "The General" or "Steamboat Bill, Jr." for that phenomenal "side of a house falling down" sight gag.

Anything from the Marx Brothers. But in particular, "Night at the Opera" ('party of the first part' and 'you can't-a-fool-me. There ain't no such thing as a sanity clause') and "Day at the Races" ('get-a-your ice-a-cream' and the horse racing systems gag that ensued).

The comedy and the significance of Charles Chaplin's "The Great Dictator".

The insane visual and timing brilliance of anything that Jerry Lewis ever did.

The obvious brilliance of Jacques Tati films.

"Blazing Saddles" - because of its bravery and open-ended insulting tactic. Pure comedy - not just one group insulted, EVERYONE is insulted. Well done Mel.......actually, well done Richard Pryor.

"The Producers" - because the film had balls and great music.

The hot-and-cold brilliance of Mel Brooks' "Spaceballs" - too many gags to mention. But "Mr. Radar" was inspired as well as using marketed VHS tapes to tell how the film was gonna turn out. "Ludicrous Speed" combined with Rick Moranis? Comedy perfection.

But the best?

"Monty Python and the Holy Grail" - sheer anarchic brilliance from scene to scene. From the "Knights who say 'Ni!'" to an enchanter called 'Tim'. The 'Black Knight' to the 'Trojan Rabbit'.....

Just by a nudge, I think it's the funniest film of all time.

Blondie and Dagwood movies were some of my favorites as well. Rarely shown today.

Harold Lloyd in "Safety Last". He did all the stunts himself and without an insurance company standing by.

So many funny movies - I do love a good laugh.

Life of Brian would be up there for me

"He's not the messiah - he's a very naughty boy"

The 'Crucifix' scene with them all happily singing "always look on the bright side of life"

Then the Holy Grail one was great too - the scenes mentioned above but also include the Rabbit of Caerbannog and the Legendary Black Beast Of Aaaaarrrrrrggghhh!

I am another Blazing Saddles fan, this has a lot to do with the fact that my parents took me to the movie and mum just about fainted at the 'farting' scene whilst dad and I loved it.

Also rans that come to mind are Planes, Trains and Automobiles, Galaxy Quest, Young Frankenstin (well nearly all of Gene Wilders), Elf was good too, oh and thinking of tights - Robin Hood:Men in Tights.

there are so many I am sure I will keep thinking of them all day now :)

Blazing Saddles would be top of my list too.

Airplane deserves honourable mention as does Blues Brothers.

"Airplane" of course deserves an honourable mention.

"The Blues Brothers" maybe less so only because it is more a musical.

But is it funny? Hell yeah!

Elwood: "It's a hundred and six miles to Chicago. We've got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark and we're wearing sunglasses."

Jake: "Hit it!"

Too many funny films out there to pick one, so I'll drop in a few that haven't been listed already but I think deserve an honourable mention.

Caddyshack - "The last time I saw a mouth like that it had a hook in it"
His Girl Friday - Just very smart and very funny.
Dodgeball - "One day you'll look back on this and laugh. I'm laughing already"
Trading Places
The Hangover - "You're literally too stupid to insult", "Thank you"

And if you want my favourite Life Of Brian quote:
Brian:"You're all individuals" - Crowd in unison:"Yes, we're all individulas"
Brian:"You're all different" - Crowd in unison:"Yes, we're all different"
Random bloke:"I'm not"
